[Destiny 2] I don’t like Bungie’s current raid model, here’s why.

As I am writing this article, there are 3 raids available in Destiny 2. Last Wish (LW), Garden of Salvation (GoS), and Deep Stone Crypt (DSC). I personally only enjoy two of them, Last Wish and GoS. In the previous season, we had 7, which meant much more variety in raid gameplay.

The issue with this is that Bungie is seemingly moving towards a system of giving us 1 new raid every year, but the raid is larger and more elaborate. I can understand why people may like this model, yet, I hate it.

When they were giving us raids at a rate of every 3 months or every 6 months, they were giving us smaller raids or even raid lairs that weren’t necessarily considered to be full raids. Although they didn’t take as long or didn’t have as much to them, there was a bunch of them. This is a situation where I believe that quantity is more important than quality. I currently only have 3 raids to farm, these raids are considered to be the ones with the most quality to them. I would be much happier with the raids that were put into the Destiny Content Vault and not having the 3 I have now. In that case, I would have more variety, which is the most important thing when it comes to a raid in my opinion.

Now of course Bungie will be making up for the lack of new raids by bringing the old raids out of the content vault. They will also be bringing back the raids from Destiny 1 slowly over the years. This is pure laziness and doesn’t make up for the fact that we will only get one new raid a year. I think they should stick to the model of 2 or 3 smaller raids a year over the one big raid a year model that they are shifting towards.
